Why results stop at six digits
U.S. Customs and Border Protection ruling HQ H350722 (January 2026) treats a tool that provides 8- or 10-digit HTSUS classifications for specific goods to be imported as conducting customs business, which only a licensed customs broker may do. Six-digit Harmonized System classification offered as general information is permitted. A disclaimer alone does not change that, so this service only produces, displays, exports and stores codes at the 6-digit subheading level.
